1MB DIP DRAM for A590, A2091 and A3000 Chip RAM: 8x HM514256AP-10

Details

Eight Hitachi HM514256AP-10 DRAM chips, 1MB in total, in the 20-pin DIP package. The A590 and A2091 hard drive controllers and the Amiga 3000’s chip RAM call for 120 ns or faster, so these 100 ns chips fit.

Where they fit

• A590 and A2091 hard drive controllers: sixteen DIP sockets for 0.5, 1 or 2MB; two sets fill all sixteen
• Amiga 3000 chip RAM: the board comes with 1MB of chip RAM fitted at U259 to U266, and eight empty sockets (U267 to U274) take a second set for 2MB. Many A3000s shipped with 1MB of DIP Fast RAM, and a common upgrade is to fit ZIP Fast RAM and move those DIP chips into the empty chip RAM sockets. A set of these chips does the same job
• Repairs and ReAmiga builds: the A500 (Rev 6A and later, chip RAM at U16 to U19), the A501 Rev 6C and the cost-reduced A2000-CR Rev 6 (U501 to U508) use the same chips. The RAM on those boards is soldered down, so extra chips are only for repair or for building a ReAmiga

These chips are not for the A3000’s DIP Fast RAM sockets, which need 80 ns parts. For any other board, check its chip list before ordering.
